What is UV sterilisation?
Warm water is a breeding ground for dangerous Legionella bacteria. Disinfection of the water takes place when the water flows past the built-in UV lamp. It generally only takes 20-30 seconds, and the water will be safe.
Is it necessary to have a Legionella disinfection plan?
It is a requirement for healthcare facilities to comply with the NSW Code of Practice for the Control of Legionnaires’ Disease, which has been adopted as a policy for implementation in all healthcare facilities in NSW. A copy of the Code of Practice can be downloaded from the NSW Health website.
